Housing Success Story!

This past month we were able to provide accommodations for a new client who had just moved home to NJ after leaving an environment of domestic violence in another state where they had been studying in college. Very quickly after returning to our state, they secured a full time food service job but had been couch surfing, at times having to stay out on the street, while waiting for their first paycheck. When we got into contact with them, they were down to their last $20. We were able to put them up at a bed and breakfast for multiple nights as a stop-gap measure and are very proud to say that they have now been able to secure permanent housing. They have informed their college of their financial situation and are hoping to return to their studies as soon as possible.
One of the many faces of homelessness in NJ was a young college student escaping domestic abuse, a face we were able to assist in their time of need thanks to the generous support of those who have given to our charity over the past few years. We are a small, volunteer-run organization that depends heavily on local support to be able to operate. Please consider making a sustaining donation at LandForTheHomeless.org/Donate so that we can continue to help our neighbors when they need it most. If you are unable to make a financial donation, please consider volunteering your time at www.LandForTheHomeless.org/Volunteer
